This year, if BC Pandemic Regulations permit, we will visit Vancouver Island. The plan is to allocate the 16th (Thursday) and 19th (Sunday) as ferry ride days to and from the Island. The ferry journey to the Island will start at Tsawwassen (Vancouver) and end at Swartz Bay (Victoria) on September 16, 2021. The ferry journey from the Island will start at Departure Bay(Nanaimo) and end at Horseshoe Bay (Vancouver) or alternatively, start at Duke Point (Nanaimo) and end at Tsawwassen(Vancouver) on September 19, 2021. You will be responsible for selecting and booking your own ferry times on the dates prescribed.
Note that the Pandemic BC Regulations may still apply at the time of the Run and you will have to comply with our Club policy to abide by the Regulations.

we will complete about two thirds of the very scenic west portion of the "The Great Circle Tour" from Victoria to Sooke then on to Port Renfrew, Lake Cowichan Village and end the circle route at Duncan. This particular tour is an Island favorite for car clubs and boasts spectacular scenery. The tour will take most of the day with interspersed visits to very interesting sights plus a picnic lunch. From Duncan, we will travel to the Parksville/Nanoose Bay area and enjoy an overnight sleep at the Pacific Shores Resort & Spa. We will spend 2 nights at this hotel.

Ample parking. No restaurant at the moment due to COVID-19 regulations. The management hope that the BC regulations will have decreased by the time we arrive and they hope to have a running restaurant in which case they will serve breakfast and dinners.
On Saturday September 18,2021
we will tour the mid Island region with a visit to Coombs (Goats on the Roof), the Cathedral Grove, lunch at Port Alberni or Qualicum Beach and north on Highway 19A to Courtenay/Comox region. Highway 19A is a very pleasant and popular drive. The return journey to the Parksville/Nanoose Bay accommodation can be on Highway 19 (quick!). There are many places to visit in the mid east island region and time will determine what we can fit in. We will return to the hotel and have another convivial get together dinner
On Sunday September 19, 2021
we will return home unless more adventurous members want to extend their stay and spend extra time in the mid Island region.
As the plan unfolds, we will inform you about routes, visits and restaurants. Both hotels have a capacity to exceed the 15 rooms that we have agreed to at this stage. The special reservation/group rate will not be available after August 26th so we need you to register early.
